General Radiology
A full range of general radiology services are offered and many are available with same day appointments. Examples of these services are x-rays of the chest, extremities, abdomen, spine, skull and pelvis. Other procedures such as IVP's to rule out kidney stones and fluoroscopy studies such as upper GI, and esophageal studies, and arthrography studies are also available on site.
Mammography
The mammography department of Emory Clark-Holder Clinic is certified by the Federal Drug Administration. The clinic strives to maintain the high standards of care required by regulatory agencies with highly trained and sensitive staff.
For patient convenience, appointments may be scheduled on the same day as a physician visit.
Ultrasound
Using sound waves to generate images is the basis of ultrasound technology. This diagnostic tool is available on site and can be instrumental in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
In addition to the traditional ultrasound for obstetrical patients, a 3-D image is available. Though this 3-D service is not normally covered by insurance, it is available at a competitive price for parents to see an enhanced view of their child.
MRI
Magnetic Resonance Imaging services are also available. This technology uses magnetic waves to generate images for diagnostic purposes. This type of image provides more detail than other radiographic images and is an important diagnostic tool for physicians.
Nuclear Medicine
This technology uses a gamma camera and radioactive isotopes to generate images for diagnostic purposes. These tests can be used to perform bone studies, heart scans, and lung scans.
DEXA Scan
Women and men over the age of 40 are at increased risk of developing osteoporosis, a disease that causes the bones to become extremely brittle and susceptible to fractures. Emory Clark-Holder Clinic is pleased to offer the latest in technology to detect early bone loss. Now, west Georgia and east Alabama residents don't have to travel long distances to have this procedure. This simple, painless procedure can be performed right here at Emory Clark-Holder Clinic.
